Not an doctor here. So this is just what I do. But I have been told to check my BG 2hrs after a meal to make sure my BG is not too high. Just so I know I did enough insulin to cover my meal. But insulin stays in your system for 4hrs. Empty stomach a good range is 80-120, 2hrs after a meal below 180 or 160 would be amazing. Everyone is different, depends on what your Dr, educator, like for you.

Well (this is what I do, I’m not a doctor) when my BG is over 200 I become more insulin resistant so I end up needing more insulin then my normal “correction ratio” so I end up doing about 10% more insulin at that level to help me get where I need to be. Everyone is different though. Hope it helps
