I have PCOS and type 2 Diabetes. i am only thirteen. i exercise regularly, go to a gym three times a week at the least, and i eat fruits and vegetables, and i drink kangen water. sometimes i eat more than i should. i play sports, volley ball and softball, and i need good physical fitness for my career idea. I’m 5 feet 7 or 8 inches and i weigh about 215 – 225 pounds. I’m usually stuck at home all the time because i live pretty far out of town and don’t do anything with friends. how can i lose weight? thank you!

You’re not that far overweight and you seem to be very active. Since you already make sure to eat fruits and vegetables one thing I think you can do to easily lose a few pounds to is cut some things out of your diet. Things like soda and candy, even in small amounts, have a whole lot of calories and they’re just not worth consuming. You don’t have to cut them out completely. Turn them into a treat you give yourself only once a week. Maybe it Friday or Saturday since those are already good days. The rest of the week don’t have any to make that one day special. Also exchange white bread and white pasta for whole wheat. Provides great fiber with no empty calories.

Sounds like you’re doing great already just keep up the good work!

Any good herbal medicine for diabetes?

or good foods for them like fruits and vegetables

Tomato’s are good for a diabetic diet. In Juice , Chili, Virgin Marys.

Before you eat take 3 tablespoons of Lime , lemon or Vinegar . It will lower glucosse spikes .
You can try Cinnamon , 1/2 teaspoon. It may take a long time to kick in. Or may not help at all.
Go to this website to see all the things you should eat and all the ones not to eat and how much.

Why are people so cruel to defenseless plants?

So many people everywhere engage in plant cruelty. They pick grains, nuts, legumes, fruits, and vegetables from poor defenseless plants that can’t even fight back or run away. They have no way to defend themselves, yet are often UPROOTED (as with potatoes, carrots, beets, peanuts, and many others) and taken out of their natural environment forcefully. Even worse, they are often cut up with a blade while still alive–WITHOUT ANY ANESTHETICS! And to top things off, they aren’t even healthy: too many carrots in the diet can dye the skin orange, and too much grain or sugar can cause diabetes and obesity.

How could people be so cruel?

i think of that every time i’m in the produce section at the market… i cringe in the frozen veggies…

edit:
you haven’t tried mine daisy… everthing’s better when it sits on a ritz!

Question about diabetes..?

So about 6 years ago I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, my mom and I went on this semi-strict diet of no rice, potatoes, pasta, etc. and my doctor said I no longer had pre-diabetes and I was doing great. But since then I’ve been eating healthier, cut out all forms of fast food, eating more fruits and vegetables and working out more often. But a couple of days ago my dad made his homemade macaroni and cheese and I ate a lot of it. I mean a LOT, because I just couldn’t stop because I missed it so much. Plus I haven’t worked out in a couple of days too. Now, the macaroni is gone, (my dad wanted me to stop eating it) and lately I’ve been really hungry. Like I keep feeling like I need to eat a snack or something. And I know increased appetite is a sign of diabetes…so is it possible for my pre-diabetes to come back after these 2 days of pasta madness?
Thank you!
I forgot to mention that diabetes DOES run in my family and I’ve been really sleepy a lot lately too…ever since I stayed up for Black Friday Shopping..the mac and cheese was made last Thursday.

"The Road to Hell is paved with Good Intentions" — Old Saying

You had a GREAT start, but you lack the self-discipline to finish.

Increased hunger is a symptom of LATE STAGE diabetes — it occurs when you are almost too sick to move. SInce you otherwise seem normal, and the doctor said you were normal it is NOT likely that the diabetes has come back — and ESPECIALLY not in two days!.

So get back on your diet and exercise, AND DO NOT STOP!

But understand that THERE IS NO PRE-DIABETES! What you have (now) is Early Stage Diabetes. You ARE diabetic, but the doctor caught it early enough to control it — like stopping smoking BEFORE you get lung cancer.

But to MAINTAIN control you will have to develop the self-discipline to work EVERYDAY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE to maintain a good diet and enough exercise. ONLY if you do this will you be abel to save yourself from damages in the future.

You MUST learn to "Just Say No". You can have a SMALL bowl of macaroni and cheese, but not a lot, and no second helpings!

do not let your self-discipline skip — EVER. If you continue with the healthy diet and exercise, the diabetes will not bother you. But if you slip, and stop exercising and stop eating healthy, the diabetes WILL attack you even harder than before.

Has meat ever been shown to prevent any type of human disease from occurring?

In terms of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. I’ve never heard any evidence of meat preventing any of these diseases. Is there any disease that can actually be cured or prevented by eating meat?

(The way that fruits, beans, whole grains, vegetables and other vegetarian foods are actually shown to prevent disease)

Anemia, Low B12, and Hypoproteinaemia

Renal Disease Stage III – what vegetables and fruits to avoid?

My Dad has multiple health problems including diabetes, but was recently diagnosed with Renal Disease Stage III. He’s already been doing much of what they list at the site below (lost more than 50 pounds) and is trying to increase his exercise. I make a lot of his food, especially premade meals for him to pop out of the freezer into the microwave such as homemade burritos. The link indicates that he may have to avoid fruits and vegetables high in phosphorus or potassium. Which ones are these besides bananas (which he rarely eats anyway)?

The same web site also lists the high potassium and high phosphorus foods. Go to:

Back when I was on dialysis, I remember that I was supposed to limit potatos, tomatos, and oranges, but I can’t remember the rest, so they should be on the website.
