Fruit and vegetable weight loss?

I weigh 250 pounds, I want to get rid off them to get healthier. Is it possible to diet on no more than fruit and cooked vegetables?

Also, is there any risk of getting diabetes in the process? I mean, considering fruits contain sugar.

By going all natural and unprocessed with fruit and vegetables you will be doing your body a great favor! It sounds like a very healthy diet but you are missing protein which is really important for a healthy body. It might be good for you to add in a small portion of brown rice and piece of tofu or fish each day just to make sure you are getting all the nutrients you need.

You should also make sure that you eat at least 1,200 calories otherwise you risk slowing down your metabolism and gaining weight as soon as you stop eating just fruit and vegetables.

I need help with no sodium foods?

I have been given this medication (Pednisone) to take for 3 weeks to help my eczema and the Dr told me that I cannot have any sodium during these 3 weeks because it can lead to high blood pressure, diabetes and stomach ulcers. Besides fruits and vegetables, can you think of anything else that I may be able to eat? Thx!

Any meats or veggies that aren’t prepared in anyway, unsalted butter; out of the meat case and the produce department. Any kind of processing usually involves some salt. Mrs. Dash is a variety of salt-free seasoning mixes for meat and veggies, but check each label to be sure. Read any labels if you buy anything prepackaged; you’ll be amazed at what has salt in it!

Need to lose 30 kilograms really fast, and eat lots of Fruits and vegetables?

Please I am overweight I need to eat lots of fruits and vegetables cause my blood is low, and loose 30 kilograms, please tell me how, i am young, no pills no doctor no special help just tell me some times, i don’t have the time to go on a website and search, I am begging yo please don’t give me any site links, feel free to go on a site and read it and give me the tips but no links please I need to loose this much weight by November and eat so much veggies and fruits please help me!!!!!! I am begging I cry everyday just because I am overweight I feel like I am going to die, I don’t want diabetes! please help!

There is no magic, pill, solution, or device that is going to help you. You say you don’t want to visit the doctor or special help groups. Right now, you have to decide what you are prepared to do, the only person you are willing to let help you, is yourself, and for most people that is simply not enough.

If you need to lose 30kgs then the only solution for you is a radical lifestyle chang, and that sort of weight loss will realistically take more than a year.

1) Set yourself multiple realistic goals and when you reach them, reward yourself with NON FOOD treats. Goals such as you’ll go see a (specific) new release film at the cinema when you’ve lost a set amount of weight. Keep the goals revolving so you always have more than just one thing to aim for.
2) Where ever possible only eat food socially, in other words in the company of others, but try to make those home/work meals, not fast food outings.
3) Change what you eat. You’ll probably find it easier to almost totally eliminate anything containing a lot of refined sugars rather then even try to cut down. It may seem odd, but you’ll still need to eat at least some fat, it’s needed to help the body repair itself, not too much though you literally only need a couple of grams of the stuff per day. Make sure you are eating a couple of portions (no more) of fruit per day and three or more portions of green vegetables. Meat should be lean, and don’t go mad on root vegetables or pulses, you’ll need those complex carbs for long release energy, but they are (complex) sugars and so need to be regulated. Take a multivitamin.
4) Try to be more social, just get involved with various groups. Regard social meals as treats, just avoid the fast food restaurants (that includes pizza places) when socializing. Don’t be frightened to let people know you are trying to lose weight, just don’t go all evangelical on people about it.
5) Exercise, you know the blurb, take the stairs not the elevator, cycle if you can. Basically do what ever physical exercise you enjoy, and try to set aside at least 30minutes per day five days per week for it. Keeping it varied will make it more enjoyable too, don’t get stuck in a routine!

I am diabetic as a result of being on a class of medicine for too long that posed a risk for diabetes?

I have no family history of diabetes. I am tired all of the time. I can barely help my partner around the house, and he works, and I am unemployed right now. I feel like such a bum, and my doctor doesn’t want to put me on medicine yet for it; he just wants me to control it with my diet, and honestly I have been doing really well with watching my carbs and sugar, and getting my fruits and vegetables.
But I still get tired, and today I have a lot of things to do. But I just sit around, waiting for an energy spurt. What do you recommend? I am really open to good suggestions.

For anyone being diagnosed as being diabetic is hard but unfortunately you just have to deal with it just like everyone else yes it is hard. You will have good days and bad days just like any chronic illness. Have you tried adding some gentle exercise as well as this does help with glucose control. Try a new walk or swimming for a start, it might be hard at first but you should soon regain some of your energy. Most doctors will try the no drugs approach as this is the best way in the long term the longer you can stay of medication the better. The other thing to consider is depression which can cause tiredness and lethargy. Talk to your doctor and see if he can help with more advice and help.

how can i lose weight with PCOS?

I have PCOS and type 2 Diabetes. i am only thirteen. i exercise regularly, go to a gym three times a week at the least, and i eat fruits and vegetables, and i drink kangen water. sometimes i eat more than i should. i play sports, volley ball and softball, and i need good physical fitness for my career idea. I’m 5 feet 7 or 8 inches and i weigh about 215 – 225 pounds. I’m usually stuck at home all the time because i live pretty far out of town and don’t do anything with friends. how can i lose weight? thank you!

You’re not that far overweight and you seem to be very active. Since you already make sure to eat fruits and vegetables one thing I think you can do to easily lose a few pounds to is cut some things out of your diet. Things like soda and candy, even in small amounts, have a whole lot of calories and they’re just not worth consuming. You don’t have to cut them out completely. Turn them into a treat you give yourself only once a week. Maybe it Friday or Saturday since those are already good days. The rest of the week don’t have any to make that one day special. Also exchange white bread and white pasta for whole wheat. Provides great fiber with no empty calories.

Sounds like you’re doing great already just keep up the good work!
