Never think of junk food, cream biscuits, and chocolates. Tea and coffee are also not good for the cause of controlling diabetes. Instead go for butter milk.

Why do you worry over the matters over which you should not worry at all? If you say that worry can solve any problem including diabetes, I am prepared to even forgo my sleep and keep on worrying for 24 hours in a day. You know, stress is one of the reasons for diabetes.

So stop worrying and start living! Life is to be lived in its trials, in its tribulations, in its duty and in its beauty.

From the practical point of view, never forget to have periodical checkups at the doctor’s chamber and keep the record of your blood sugar levels!

I am a diabetic and a vegetarian, how do i control my blood sugar?

Hey there, i am seventeen years old. I just found out a few days a go that i am diabetic. I have been a vegetarian for six years now and it’s not helping my blood sugar. I eat a lot of carbs since i eat no meat. That means rice, pasta, potatoes, etc. My doctor told me cutting that stuff out would help my blood sugar dramatically but also said that i have to watch out for fruits to b/c of the sugars. What in the world am i suppose to eat then?! I eat a lot of vegetables as it is now and now my dad is making me include fish back into my diet to try and help my health. What are some things that i can eat that doesnt have a lot of sugars in it? Fruits, vegetables, etc… I am very healthy otherwise, i was born with it and just found out recently. My mothers side of the family all have diabetes so its harder for me. Is there vitamins i can take that will help? Anything at all…

Tell whoever is treating your diabetes what you have said. I am assuming that your physician who is following you will hook you up with a dietitian. It should be no problem. You just gotta eat complex carbohydrates preferably with fiber to slow down the digestion. Overall, it’s healthier diet anyway.

Your dietitian would be happy to work with you. There is nothing about a vegetarian diet that would make it difficult. The only reason it is difficult is that the usual assumption is that you eat meat. Once your dietitian knows that you are a vegetarian, it’s a snap. If your doctor doesn’t work with a dietitian, you should be changing to another doctor who is anyway.

Diabetes risk for a young person with a family history?

I realize this is not the best place to ask such a technical medical question, but… there seems to be no literature on my situation.

Diabetes runs in my family. My grandfather and his sister both died of complications from it, and my uncle is currently fighting a losing battle. I am afraid of developing it.

I’m a food-conscious kind of person. I avoid fast food restaurants, eat whole grains, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, leaner meats on a regular basis, etc., etc., etc. However, I also have a sky-high metabolism, exercise intensely 3-5 times a week, and can’t have dairy (cheese, butter, milk, and so on) because I’m allergic. This means that I am always on the other side of the weight battle: every pound I gain is hard fought. This results in a high "treat" intake of unhealthy things like bacon, hashbrowns, candies, and so on.

I’m female, 5′6", 23, and get excited if I hit 115 lbs on any given day. I do try and gain muscle weight rather than fat weight, but honestly, this results in a very strange look – simultaneously body builder and anorexic – so I continue to load up on treats to prevent this.

All the diabetes (or other health issues) prevention literature focuses on people who are overweight. I can’t be overweight, but my diet, despite my love of healthy food, is kind of crap. How much diabetes (or even other health issues) risk am I putting myself in?

Natural Home Remedies for Diabetes

Symptoms: Diabetes, or Diabetes Mellitus to give it its proper medical name, is a disorder of assimilation. After about a fortnight of this regimen, the patient can take bread made of whole flour.

Allopaths while recommending a sugar face-free diet to the diabetic prescribes a high protein diet like fish, eggs, meat and lentils leading to an imbalance in his food. Advising patients to take saccharine instead of sugar, the allopaths expose them to the danger of slow poisoning. The harmful effects of saccharine have recently been observed.
