Diabetes, Blood Pressure And Bad Cholesterol Cause Heart Ailment

Diseases are best fought when those in the high-risk bracket understand as to what are the risk factors involved. It is true that you cannot avoid the genetic factor but you can still keep the situation in your control by making a few changes in your current approach to life and living.

Bad Cholesterol is supposed to be a major culprit in case of heart diseases. It is a type of a lipid, a soft, fat-like substance. Atherosclerotic plaque, which can cause blockage of blood flow in the arteries and can also cause heart attack, can develop due to excess of cholesterol. Popular by the name of ‘Bad’ cholesterol, LDL cholesterol gets deposited on the walls of arteries and is transported to different sites throughout the body where new hormones are developed and cell membranes are repaired. On the other hand the ‘Good’ cholesterol called HDL cholesterol, carries cholesterol to the liver where the alteration process is done, after which it is removed from the body.

According to the physicians, the blood pressure level of a normal person is less than 130 mm Hg for systolic blood pressure and less than 85 mm Hg for diastolic blood pressure. Every individual should get his blood pressure checked at least once in every two years so as to know the status, and if any increase is found, the treatment should be started forthwith. If your blood pressure level is little higher than normal then get it checked once a year, and take good care if it is very high and then get multiple measurements to check out whether it remains that high all the time or fluctuates. Immediate medical attention is a must in such cases.

If you are suffering from diabetes, which is a chronic disease of insulin deficiency or resistance, then you are more prone to heart disease. On the other hand if you are suffering from type 2 diabetes then you can easily avoid it by losing your weight either through exercise or by taking balanced nutrition.

If you smoke, stop smoking immediately because it affects your lungs very badly, and not just heart diseases, it may also lead to many other problems.

A daily 30 minutes physical exercise or fast walking can keep you away from heart diseases and can also be helpful in controlling obesity.

Minimize your daily alcohol intake to three ounces or less. It would definitely be a healthy step. Include fresh fruits and vegetables, sufficient amount of potassium, calcium and magnesium in your daily diet. Avoid saturated fats and cholesterol to keep your heart healthy. Just a little care and a little awareness is all it takes to keep heart diseases at bay.

I am diabetic as a result of being on a class of medicine for too long that posed a risk for diabetes?

I have no family history of diabetes. I am tired all of the time. I can barely help my partner around the house, and he works, and I am unemployed right now. I feel like such a bum, and my doctor doesn’t want to put me on medicine yet for it; he just wants me to control it with my diet, and honestly I have been doing really well with watching my carbs and sugar, and getting my fruits and vegetables.
But I still get tired, and today I have a lot of things to do. But I just sit around, waiting for an energy spurt. What do you recommend? I am really open to good suggestions.

For anyone being diagnosed as being diabetic is hard but unfortunately you just have to deal with it just like everyone else yes it is hard. You will have good days and bad days just like any chronic illness. Have you tried adding some gentle exercise as well as this does help with glucose control. Try a new walk or swimming for a start, it might be hard at first but you should soon regain some of your energy. Most doctors will try the no drugs approach as this is the best way in the long term the longer you can stay of medication the better. The other thing to consider is depression which can cause tiredness and lethargy. Talk to your doctor and see if he can help with more advice and help.

how can i lose weight with PCOS?

I have PCOS and type 2 Diabetes. i am only thirteen. i exercise regularly, go to a gym three times a week at the least, and i eat fruits and vegetables, and i drink kangen water. sometimes i eat more than i should. i play sports, volley ball and softball, and i need good physical fitness for my career idea. I’m 5 feet 7 or 8 inches and i weigh about 215 – 225 pounds. I’m usually stuck at home all the time because i live pretty far out of town and don’t do anything with friends. how can i lose weight? thank you!

You’re not that far overweight and you seem to be very active. Since you already make sure to eat fruits and vegetables one thing I think you can do to easily lose a few pounds to is cut some things out of your diet. Things like soda and candy, even in small amounts, have a whole lot of calories and they’re just not worth consuming. You don’t have to cut them out completely. Turn them into a treat you give yourself only once a week. Maybe it Friday or Saturday since those are already good days. The rest of the week don’t have any to make that one day special. Also exchange white bread and white pasta for whole wheat. Provides great fiber with no empty calories.

Sounds like you’re doing great already just keep up the good work!

Why are people so cruel to defenseless plants?

So many people everywhere engage in plant cruelty. They pick grains, nuts, legumes, fruits, and vegetables from poor defenseless plants that can’t even fight back or run away. They have no way to defend themselves, yet are often UPROOTED (as with potatoes, carrots, beets, peanuts, and many others) and taken out of their natural environment forcefully. Even worse, they are often cut up with a blade while still alive–WITHOUT ANY ANESTHETICS! And to top things off, they aren’t even healthy: too many carrots in the diet can dye the skin orange, and too much grain or sugar can cause diabetes and obesity.

How could people be so cruel?

i think of that every time i’m in the produce section at the market… i cringe in the frozen veggies…

edit:
you haven’t tried mine daisy… everthing’s better when it sits on a ritz!
