i eat ATON of candy and sweets everyday does this mean i will get diabetes?
im just wondering because like all i eat is sweets. im not fat or anything(a size 00 or 0) and i play sports and stuff but am i at risk of diabetes?
Maybe…especially if you have relatives who are diabetic-then you may have a very strong chance to become diabetic–and you may be hurrying it’s arrival into your life sooner.
Diabetes doesn’t make you fat–sugars-even the hidden starchy ones in Chips, Corn or Peas–these become addictions when you eat a lot of them. You know that Lay’s commercial-"Bet you can’t eat just one?!" Well-why do you suppose that was such a good commercial-it was true!!! Talk about "Truth in Advertising!"
Because of an insulin difficulty a person’s body may not be able to process sugars–so they aren’t used or passed through-that’s why a diabetic often becomes FAT-and end up with clogged arteries-heart trouble-bad circulation-and have to loose their leg-or eye sight-etc. I’m of course simplifying it-but in a nutshell that’s it. A diabetic who eats all that stuff-will still be starving..so they eat more chips. Literally-they may be fat-but they literally ARE starving-because their body has no fuel to keep them going..so they’re always hungry. Yet–if they eat the wrong stuff-it just glues itself on-so they get fatter and stay hungry.
People always think they can make them selves diabetic-but that’s actually inaccurate…you may be predisposed towards diabetes if it runs in your family-and you may hurry it–or slow it’s on slot by how you eat NOW. You are wise to ask your question!! I think Diabetes isn’t ever explained correctly or clear enough by physicians to us patients-it’s not inevitable unless we don’t pay attention–BUT If a Dr says you are Pre-Diabetic–then babe–you better start eating like a diabetic–because you are one!!!!
Break your sugar addiction-and you can slow the process down-maybe even stop it..you can still have candy occasionally–just allow yourself lots less. I’m diabetic-and I still have dark chocolate–just lots less..and I savor it longer-so it lasts a long time…don’t gobble..think of the flavor–and eat right the rest of the time. To me–chocolate is a special treat-I don’t have it often-so I make my choices wiser-so I’m actually quite slim and very healthy.
Diabetics are prone to infection–maybe that’s were pimples come in……..think about it. Everything is related!! Bad circulation from diabetes-causes trouble with your feet-being prone to infection, you may develop an infection that won’t heal very fast–thus a diabetic may have to eventually have a leg amputated from eventual gangrene…
Frankly–I love all my appendages–and plan on keeping ALL of them a long time-Walking is not overrated!!
